Bikes, Blues and BarBQ

This is Bikes, Blues and BarBQ weekend in Fayetteville. Phillip rode his motorcycle up here with some friends and I drove a vehicle with 4 wheels and metal all around me! The news said that 400,000 people are in the area for the event. All of the hotels for miles around are full. It's really exciting - motorcyles everywhere!

Yea Mim!

Mim walked 5K in one hour and 7 minutes! Pretty good for a 74 year young woman. Mike and I joined her on the Race for the Cure in Shreveport. We didn't do it last year, but we beat the 2007 time...she's thinking about a half marathon next year...

Spa Day

I had a facial today at Luxurious Necessities in Arkadelphia http://www.arkadelphiamassage.com/ . It was great - I'm going to have to do that again!

We were in NW Arkansas this past weekend. Melissa, Kerry and the boys came over and we took the kayaks and canoe out for an adventure. We made a stop at "pirates point" and then floated over to the park. The boys had a great time playing on the slides and climbing all over the equipment. I cannot believe that I did not get a single picture....where was my head?

We went out to eat at a Mexican Restaurant in downtown Rogers with Miranda Saturday....it was yummy. We'll have to do that again, too.

As always, Phillip and I had a great time. We went out to eat several times, shopped, sat by the lake and sat on the deck looking at the lake....

Riding the Divide

Phillip and Gaylan rode their motorcycles 3150 miles over 9 days. They traveled through Oklahoma, Kansas, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado. The two are pictured below at Independence Pass in Colorado:

Phillip on the road...
Phillip is touching four states at one time at Four Corners - Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico.

You've got to take care of your machine....Phillip's is a Harley-Davidson V-Rod with custom paint.

This is their second year to take a road trip and they are already planning next year's!

Evan's Vacation

Evan had his vacation this weekend. Phillip and I picked him up after school on Thursday and took him to the lakehouse. I asked if he wanted to go to Toys R Us, but he prefers Wal-Mart for his toy shopping. After a little shopping at Wal-Mart and Gap we headed to Olive Garden for "noodles" (Evan's favorite).
Friday morning Evan was up bright and early! As usual, he headed straight for the deck. Below he is sneaking some of my Dr. Pepper.
Below Evan is wearing his new jacket that we got at Gap.

Playing with his new toy...

We took the canoe out and did a little fishing. Evan caught a catfish!

After fishing and lunch, he was a little tired. He took his nap on the deck.

Evan had been talking about riding the tractor all morning, but he was so serious the whole time. It looks like he is scared, but he said that he wasn't.

One night... twenty-five hours...he was wanting his Mommy.
